Patch 7 blackouts
« on: August 25, 2009, 10:41:47 PM »
Seems im getting the buggy blackout in patch 7... Usually a relog helped but not anymore.

Instead of tunnel vision, the entire screen turns black with any G's.

I'm seeing the same weird blackouts as you are Lazerr...

Complete DxDiag is here:  http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=ea9273c6ecfdbe5d95af63b7d44918aae36d0f796e6d76f2

I've got the Hi Res Texture pack installed.  Running with all the goodies turned on except the Shadow thing.  Sliders fully to the left.

My fps seems to fluctuate quite a bit, from 60fps at the high point down to 30fps at the low.  I am also getting micro stutters when other aircraft are around.

Exactly same thing here. At the same G's (around 5G) the tunnel vision is normally starting, it's going all black right away. Suprised me to say the least when I had a P-38 glued to my tail while flying a Brewster and I couldn't break to evade it! My automatic reaction was not to turn too tightly and risk getting the G-lock. I've noticed though that it, at times, works as expected and then reverts to blacking out all the way right away again.

Processor: Athlon 64 3000+
Video Card: Ati Radeon HD3650 AGP
Amount of Video Memory: 512mb
Amount System Memory: 1024mb
Operating System: Windows XP SP3
DirectX version as reported by DXDIAG (see other stuck post for DXDIAG instructions): DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
In the beta under the frame-rate readout are "VidMem" and "Used" numbers.  Please report both of these numbers.: 592,2mb/137mb
Did you install the optional hires package?: Yes
In the Aces High video setup, what is your anti-aliasing set to?: None from AH, 2x from Ati Tray Tool
In the Aces High graphics options advanced menu, do you have self shadowing on?: No

That's exactly it.  It pretty much makes dogfighting impossible for me.

Same here, I usually use tunnel vision and keep the con in the little peephole that appears when pulling MAX G's... not so easy anymore!  :aok

I am pleased to report that, at least for me, the black out is working correctly again.  Also, the textures appear to be loading correctly again.  All is well with the world, once again.  :aok
