Correct me if I'm wrong
« on: August 31, 2009, 12:30:56 PM »
I think I understand the process now.
Open TE, create new map.
Export water bitmap.
Edit water bitmap to reflect landmasses and ocean depths..
Import water bitmap to create the dry land.
Save and close.
Open gndtype bitmap in outside editor and edit land masses to reflect different
terrain types. Save in terrain folder.
Open TE and viola you should have your map.
Take it one step further by importing an elevation bitmap then all that's left to do
is set bases, strat, roads, CV groups.
No more hand placing terrain tiles if I'm correct. :x

One question. Do you center your gndtype bitmap in the center of the 4096x4096 bitmap for smaller maps?
ie: I want to do a 64x64 map. I will need a 512x512 (64x8) bitmap to create terrain textures centered in
the 4096x4096 gndtype bitmap.
