Where's the Hurricane??

I'm new to Aces Haigh and I was flicking through the planes but couldn't find the Hawker Hurricane. How come? I think it's quite a good fighter. If those Chinese fighters are in it, the Hurricane should be.

No, it's not there.

Aces High is focused on a later war plane set at the moment, so the Hurri will likely be added down the road a bit after the mid/late war plane set is filled out a bit.  Still, HTC added like 7 new planes or varients last update, so they crank 'em out fast.  They tend to have updates every couple of months, so they Hurri will get here pretty fast.

BTW, there are no Chinese planes in AH.  I don't know what you are talking about there.  We have some Russian planes, some Italian planes, some German planes, some American planes, and some Japanesse planes, but no Chinese planes.

I'm pretty new here and am wondering if there has been any talk of how early war aircraft would be implemented into the game?  I mean, how would you get a player to play the Hurricanes and Wildcats in an arena where N1K2s and Spit IXs and the like are predominantly flown?  I heard that you guys had a problem last tour with too many C-hogs which sorta shows most players go for the best vehicle they can grab. Would be cool to be able to fly a P-40 and not have to worry about coming up against 20 ME-262s (if ever implemented.)

Steven,
Spitfire MkIX is a 1942 aircraft, N1K2-J is a late 1944 aircraft.

HTC's idea on how to get early war aircraft seems to be to make the perk points gained by flying less capable aircraft greater than the number of perk points gained by flying more capable aircraft.

IMO to get this to work there has to be a more desirable list of perk planes.  The Me262, Spitfire MkXIV, P-47M and B-29 would help greatly in this.

In Florida. HEHE HEHE.  Yeah I miss the Hurri myself.  Always thought that the ground attack model with the 40mm's would be good here.

Read this post from Grendel in the History chapter, especially the chapter "Air Combat".
