     Mission Editor stopped working
« on: Yesterday at 12:15:00 PM » Quote

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've tried downloading the mission editor several times but when I go to open it I get a "mission editor has stopped working" message. I tried downloading it from the AH website Sunday morning where the info about "skins" is located.

Can't figure it out. I use Vista and also tried downloading as administrator like when I download new patches for the game......

Here is the message I got when I tried to open it:
Problem signature:
  Problem Event Name:   APPCRASH
  Application Name:   ahedmiss.exe
  Application Version:   0.0.0.0
  Application Timestamp:   48ee5cf8

I can't seem to open the downloaded missions either. I have some saved in the file but they don't show up in the offline missions or, practice missions

Make sure you installed the editor in your AH game directory.

I went to use the mission editor that I had installed correctly a month or two ago. It won't work.
I get an "Initialization error code - 9" message.

I tried reinstalling the mission editor but no luck. Is there an issue with the new patch that makes the older mission editor not work? Is the current mission editor I downloaded no good?

I re-downloaded the ME yesterday and am getting the same thing. :(

I got that same error code also upon downloading the patch. Then I tried being sneaky and reloading up to 2.16 only to have AH game not run at all. I finaly got everything back as far as AH2.17 with all of my terrains and offline missions...all fresh reloads and fresh download and reinstall of missedit and still get the code. I'm guessing the new patch has something to do with mission editor not working. Waiting for updated mission editor......... :old:

Thanks for the info guys.

I'm new to the editor and a squaddie of mine recently did a mission. It was really helpful. It had a lot of zeke's. It seems to be improving my gunnery. I wanted to create several different missions that have all the planes that give me fits so that I can practice against them.

I spoke with HTC and they are working on it. They just released a new terrain and object editor so I'm sure mission editor will be fixed soon.

Does this mean mission editor will work with the new patch or will we still get the error -9? I managed to roll back my AH to 2.16 and ME works fine. I have just made a pretty decent training mission with no bugs (knock on wood).

I've got editor issues again.

I can't get the mission I've set up to show up in my practice mission area. I had one that only worked for a while before my enemy planes disappeared on me so I deleted that and started over. Now when I save it it shows up in the "offline mission" area. I don't know why. I saved it to the MisRes file; that's what I should do right?

If I try to load the "offline mission" file it says "Invalid file type."

If I try to go to the practice missions area AH completely shuts down and I get an Exe file error message. It won't let me open it.

Do I need to reload the mission editor or reload AH?

Silly....Any ideas?
