Saving AVA
« on: October 05, 2009, 11:07:29 AM »
1. Start small with one night a week. Pick a night and time to meet in AVA each week. There seems to be a core group here that could do this. I work most evenings so the few that I don't are filled with wife-ack, but I would try to pop in at least for a little while when I can. I would suggest Mon or Tue at 8pm est. These nights have no special events running except Titanic Tuesday so I would lean toward Monday.

2. Announce it. Put a post in the general discussion forum a week ahead of time. Also post in our own squad forums. This would give people a specific time to know something was going on there, and have a "concentrating" effect.

3. On the night, have a "recruiter" log into the MA's and DA and announce something like "WE NEED PILOTS IN AVA. GAME STARTS IN 10 MINUTES. Do this on each country channel as some players don't pay attention to 200.

4. See if anyone shows up.

5. If the numbers get lopsided the recruiter could return to the other arenas and announce WE NEED AXIS PILOTS IN AVA. ALLIES ARE STEAMROLLING!! This would have the effect of letting people know a good fight was going on.

6. Do it again the next week and see if something builds.

I'll get the ball rolling and make the initial post if we can agree on a night and time.

I believe the AVA server is raped on Titanic Tuesday. Jaeger and Larry have both been attempting to get the ball rolling with Wednesday Mission nights.
The problem isn't always getting people in it's getting people to stay. If it's possible to get everyone to remember that we may be on to something. There's another plan to bring some people to the arena starting in November. If we all concentrate on the fun of the setup instead of crap we've concentrated on in the past we may have some future success in filling the arena. I encourage you to press on with your attempts to get people in the arena along with everybody else putting out the effort. It's not so much the arena needs saving, as it needs to be fed.
