'Double Fighter Knight' By Ilmari Juutilainen
« on: November 27, 2009, 06:24:16 PM »
Found this on Amazon, I'd kinda like to read it, since you hear so little about Finland, and this very accomplished pilot in particular.
Has anyone read the English version, though? Just wondering how the translation is.

I read the english version some 10 years ago, so it's hard for me to remember the smaller specifics. however, I can remember enjoying reading it, so it should be worth it

Thanks!
As long as there's nothing mind numbingly terrible about it I can't imagine having anything wrong with it.

As far as the translation, I remember it as fluid and accurate.

Just checked the book. Both translators are/were fighter pilots, so they should have a good understanding of the abbreviations, metaphors and technical terms of fighter combat.

I have it and it is a very good book. The translation seemed fine to me.

Fighter Over Finland by Luukanen is another good one.
