Damage Point Breakdown?
« on: December 16, 2009, 03:16:46 PM »
With a quick scan of the homepage links, I do not see something, that I'd be interested in.........  What is the breakdown for damage from bombers/GVs/Attackers?

Is it listed anywhere?

For instance, a moment ago, I landed 9488 damage in Lancs.

This was:

8 City Buildings
18 Ammo Factory Buildings
1 Gun Emplacement

1 109K4 defensive kill (which I do not think applies)

But is there a spreadsheet or site somewhere, pdf even, that shows us what each buildings is worth.

And is it just me or have we seen Buffers land with 154,880 Damage?

Thank You!

<S>

I would also love to see a new map breakdown, but I am sure that is already way in the works and soon to be!  Forgive me for being a lazy person who does not Search!

Yes, we have, but the "damage" displayed has been fixed since then. The highest value I have seen since then was in the 20k range. (Actually: it was my own, a Lancaster mission)

For the exact breakdown of that number: I can't give you any details yet. I have concluded several test runs, in which I found that there is no direct simple correlation between damage score points and the displayed "has landed XXXX damage". In my test runs, the quotient of damage score divided by damage displayed varied from under 20 to over 30. It seems to me that the perk point modifier (due to ENY) could be one additional factor.

I'd say just from what I've seen that a good sortie is 7-10,000 damage points for lancaster.
Anything over that is pretty nice bombing in my opinion. What targets your hitting will make a big difference, as will which plane you take and resulting ord load.

Lusche what did you hit to get that kind of score? Training strat? 500's?

Best B24 sortie I've done so far was over 5k, but I know that has lots of room for improvement.
As I think I only hit about 3/4's of what I was aiming at.

Logan I think we are still too new at this to have anything down as far as specifics.
I think guys will work it out over time.

Just as a rough guess I'd say that anything over 5k in B17/24 or 10k in lancs is a pretty good sortie.

Lusche did you do any test runs offline to see what if any effect ENY has?

I was trying to verify my suspicion that the new strats have much less potential in score points and look-at-me factor. So after a few strat runs I did a Lancaster town run: 1x4000 + 18x500. I attacked several towns and got much more points out of it than in any of my attacks on the new strat target. Which IMHO shouldn't be that way, considering the difficulty to get to the City and the level of defenses there, not to speak about some gameplay issues.

There is a way to know damage score inflicted in offline mode?

When the change was first made it would give damage points offline but does not appear do that now.

Ty guys  <S>

Lusche I'd have to agree, Airbase town = lots of targets, doesn't take much tonnage to kill them. Followed by Training, fuel strat, etc,  with the fewest points going for "city center" targets. Those seem harder to kill, and give fewer damage points.

I'm not sure if where and how those points are awarded is something that HTC can or will adjust?

But I agree, with the emphasis on bringing back level bombers to strats. Then they should "pay off" more than typical base capture run.

I'm sure they can, but if it will happen... who knows?
But I think the new strats need a little bit more tweaking in other areas too... stay tuned for my proposals in "wishlist" ;)

Does landed damage equal the damage on your score?

I want to say ENY should not come into play but you might be right Lusche.

Another good question would be gv kills.... Something tells me dead gvs do not add to damage.  THat sounds right?

I think it is Damage Points
