« on: December 03, 2009, 05:51:11 AM »
Do the people in charge of FSO have direct control of arena settings if so I would like to see a Screen shot of arena settings at the time FSO is taking place......and why is it that every time one side fly buffs they have formations but when the other side must fly buffs they donot get formations...........  Show me....

jetster, to answer your question, yes the CM's have direct control of the arena settings in both of the SEA's.  As far as getting someone to take a screenshot while FSO is taking place, that's up to whoever the Admin, Setup, or Bouncer CM is during that particular frame.  In regards to formations of bombers being enabled for one side or the other, are you thinking of a certain FSO in particular?  I don't recall ever seeing one side have formations and one not since enabling formations is a global setting that affects all 3 countries.

??

What exactly are you talking about?

If you go to the ahevents site and look at the writeup, you will see all of the arena settings used for that particular FSO.

As for the buffs question, I don't understand it.

Everytime I have been in buff's in FSO formations for our squad are not allowed  but for the other country ever time the have buffs thier formations are allowed it just seems to be alittle fishey that every time we are in buffs we are not allowed to have formations when the enemy allways has formation...... This up comming FSO the enemy will have formation where the next FSO when we have buffs we will not be allowed to have formation..... and as for arena setting I have worked H2H for many a year and im quite aware of how the arena settings work....for instance in the middle of FSO the text bar will say that the war has been won by X side for taking X base when I know it was done in the arena setting by distroying the map room from the settings....... Just questions that I fell should be asked becouse not everyone is aware of the arena settings and how they work.......

It all depends on whoever the Admin is in designing the FSO.  If they enable formations for bombers, they are available to both countries.  Yes it can change from FSO to FSO because of the design but it does not change normally from frame to frame.  As far as the base being captured.  I guarantee you that it was not done by part way through the Setup CM destroying the map room.  Any time that has happened, either the base was meant to be captured such as in the "A Long December" setup, or it was something that was overlooked from the beginning of the frame not during it.

Very few FSOs have bases that are captured. FSO is not the Main Arena, there is no "war won" in FSO. The victors are decided by a set of scoring rules that use points for air and ground targets. There is no conspiracy to only enable certain sides or squads to have bomber formations on or off.

The setups and the arena settings are listed clearly in the writeups for everybody to see on the ahevents site under FSO.

Well that is because we are out to get your squad and make sure they have a lousy time in FSO. :D

Has nothing to do with your squad. As others have already related sometimes in FSO formations are not allowed. Other times they are. You just happened to be assigned bombers when formations are not allowed. Nothing else to it.

This is actually a rare occurrence. You only see that in FSO if the CM’s made a mistake in an arena setting and X number of field were captured to win the war as they do in the Main Arena’s. I  think I have seen this happen twice in about 3 years.

Think the screw up with the base capture thing was that the base captured was the only one set for that country so when it went down the war was won and the arena reset. Certainly not part of the plan. A simple oversight. We all had a big laugh over it. Especially the 2nd time hehe. :aok

I am not saying the buffs are disabled for eather side. Im just dont understand how our side never has formations while the other side does.... and for the map room capture is no big deal couse i know that captures are not part of FSO but the possibilty of setup manipulation is there..... :aok   :old: :salute

I think that the FSO write up is posted before side registration is over. So if you just read the write up/rules you'll be able to see whether formations are enabled and take that in to mind before you register for whatever side.

Luck of the draw I guess. As others have already stated sometimes a setup (Baumer's last one for example) opt for bombers not to have formations. He is not the first to do this. I guess your squad has just ended up on that side.

:headscratch:I am not sure what you mean by setup manipulation. If you mean someone other than the Admin CM and the Setup CM is making changes to the arena without their knowing, that is absurd. CM's do not change event settings of any event but their own unless they have specific permission. Only CM's can make those changes. If you're suggesting someone out side the CM group is making changes to the arena setup, that is also impossible as HTC flags only CM's to have those privileges in the Special Events Arena. If you're implying something else please spell it out. I don't read between the lines very well.

Rest assured their is no 'conspiracy' for squads or players in Special Events.

I recommend looking at the objectives as soon as they come out. Making your side selcetion as soon as possible. And making selcetions somewhat reasonable. Example (fighter , jabo, bomber). Not (fighter fighter, fighter.). I m not saying you did that. I 'm just trying to tell you the way I pick my rides and I usually get them... The objectives tell you a fictional story to be....  Pick your rides quickly and with some thought, you will sooner or later get what you want.
Even if you dont, Some of the best rides I've had as a CO were not what I wanted..  Hope things pan out for you sir ..  :salute

jetster, you are being a bit paranoid.  The formations for bombers is an arena-wide flag in the settings.  It is not a country-specific flag.

Either bomber formations are available for all, or formations are available for none.

Go offline and look in the arena settings in the FlightModeFlags.  That is where it is set.
