DTs still show on planes after they are dropped. I played a semi-recent film and it showed me dropping my tanks in a P-51, and lo and behold the DTs were still on the wings afterwards.
I think I saw the tanks fall away, but later when I switched to F3 mode to play back a certain part, I saw there were duplicates still under the wings.
