Non reseting postions.
« on: December 12, 2009, 07:14:50 PM »
I wish that when I switch postions in a tank of plane, that the gun i was just using stays where it is and doesnt go back to its default.

Aside from bombers, when does that happen to you?

GV's

And he has a good point, if your in the turret of a GV, looking back, jump to a hull mg or driver seat, and turret resets itself.
It shouldn't, it should stay just where it was left.

And yes, same for the bomber guns, like ball turret, top turret, etc.
That one is a bit more complicated though as if you jump into tail turret all guns that can track what you track.

Hmmmm...it must just be certain gv's because I haven't noticed that behavior in tanks...would be nice if it didn't happen in the bombers.

Did a little offline testing

Tanks and LVT4 :  If you move the Turret, Pintle and Hull guns in different directions, then go back to the driver position, then back to the gun positions, the turret will stay the same, Pintle resets to the direction of the turret, and the Hull gun resets to straight forward.

Osti and Whirbel : Move Hull gun then turret in different directions, return to driver position, Turret same, Hull resets. Move from Turret to hull position, Hull gun stays where it is.  Move from Hull to Turret, the Turret resets to the direction of the Hull gun.

Hopefully i didn't mix up the data, but I see StokesAK's point.

+1 for not resetting.  Switching quickly back and forth between pilot/driver position and turret/gunner position where I'm trying to keep a specific object or craft under observation is problematic when the turret keeps resetting.   :huh

I believe it has something to do with the direction you aim the other turrets.  It prolly is because the guns are tied together for the "autofire" on all guns that aim the same direction.  Kinda strange that the turret would do this as well though.
