I would suggest touring all the arenas, and all the sides.  The best way to land with a squad you can be at home with, is to fly with them before you join.  Most squads are more than happy to have "tag-a-longs", and many work with other squads and solo pilots on a regular basis.

Great advice.  Take your time to get to know the squads.  Not all are created equal.  Generally speaking, a squad that will automatically accept a brand new player is not the same calibre as a squad that wants to take the time for ya's to get to know each other first.

I would also advise you to consider training.  Find out if the squad offers training to its new members.

Welcome Papa my main rides are the p-51 and spit8. I am part of the Dslingers squad it is mainly just a bunch of guys on vox 146 that like to fly together. Sometimes we do fighter sweeps but nothing is manditory so if you want to you are more then welcome to come fly with us until you find a home.
