The outstanding factor that the A-26 add's is it's unique (to the best of my knowledge) air to air capability. I'm not aware of any other  medium bomber that boasted a 1 to 1 air to air kill ratio. Long ago in a land far away one of my squads favorite mission profiles was a vader strike. Not only can you bring presents to the party...you can keep giving long after the presents have been dropped down the chimmney. Since I never really buff the vader provided a way to participate in squad stuff while still doing what I play the  game for. Hope we see the vader...with those extra six in the wings  ...one day soon

Can't wait for the1st headon against those 16 .50's (8 in nose, 6 in wing and 2 in auto synched top turret)

IMHO the A-26 is a bit unbalancing, simply because it becomes the only medium bomber used when it's available.  I think the A-20 would be a far better choice (especially since it comes in 3 or 4 flavors--glass nose, gun nose, used by France, Britain, US) and the Mosquito was certainly a more historically significant plane, as was the Ju-88 or Pe-2.

Unless of course, we're simply looking for medium uberbombers, in which case the A-26 and, say, Ju-188 or Ju-288 would be good choices, as would the Mossie.

Didn't I read somewhere that the B-26 was going to be the next one?

In Air Warrior jedi? Is that where you take that opinion from?

The A-26 as a medium bomber is fast, durable, and a handful at medium alt, when gunned, in AW.

It also pulls it's wings off in ACM. The Invader is the bomber of choice as nothing comes close to it in those arenas with the nose guns, bombs carried, speed, durability, and maneuverability.ers a chance against the fighters when they get sick and tired of being decimated...

What you really mean is that it is too much of a squeak to kill compared to the B-25/Ju-88 etc. Come on... admit it... :-)

cheers

I think your right Jedi, about the A-26 being unbalancing and also the B-26 being the next bomber. But I would really like to see the B-25h myself. I`m not much on the level bombing gig,but I love screaming in at low level with the "BFG" 75mm,rockets and parafrags!

wouldnt the B-25 be a better choice over the invader.. as someone said about the A-26. the B-25 also comes in 3 styles.. bomber, strafer and attack bomber.. there you have a bomber, capable of outrunning and killing zeros or any other similar fighter.. with the capability of a flying tank.. and if someone would tweak the flight models right.. it'd be nice to fly too.. not to heavy and not to light for us pilots who like twin props.. i know its not a fighter.. but it can damn well try to be..
AND IT LOOKS BETTER THAN THE A-26!!
kinda like a B-29/B-17 with 2 props

oh and does anyone find that in aces high the heavy aircraft still seem to.. "light" in the way they move and fly... theres no delay in controls.. no shallow movements.. or dampened yawing.. you can swing the B-17 around with the rudder like you would a spitfire!.. as i recall, a B-17 flys much like a 747 .. slow to move and carefull.. even when the yoke is full left you dont see it suddenly float violently to the left.. it slowly moves that way...anyway just hope someone else has noticed this intime for the next tweak of the program
