WW1: Host connection lost, Camel in AvA PTO
« on: March 10, 2010, 07:01:35 PM »
Hi!

Eagerly downloaded the new version. It installed without problems and logged in immediately. To my surprise, there was 4 new WW1 arenas and 2 AvA arenas... A bit strange, but who knows... I logged in one WW1 Arena, went to Hangar and selected F2B. Went to tower, chose runway and spawned. All froze from then on until losing Host Connection. Tried it 3 times more, to no avail. Went on trying to log into another arena, just to check. Logged into one of the AvA arenas. To my surprise, the only available aircraft for Bishops (Allies) were... the Camel and the F2B...

Upped the Camel, flew ok, fired guns, only some gauges are not showing and had a hard time loading some terrain graphics. Logged off, and tried to log into WW1 arena once more. This time went to hangar and selected a Camel. When I spawned, all froze. Went to EW MA, all fine, right planeset, all working well.

I'm posting the pictures here:

I hope there is a simple way to solve this... I may send a DXDiag if necessary.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Are you running an anti-virus or something else that could interfere with the network connection?

I cannot duplicate what you are seeing at all.

Hi Skuzzy!

Thank you very much for your reply! I run a ZA firewall and Avast anti-vírus but I'm fine in all other arenas. The problem was only in WWI arenas.

Anyway, after downloading the patch all is working fine, at last! I still see 2 TA's and 2 AvA's but that is not a real problem. Some instruments don't display well, they're all white, but that doesn't interferes with flight or fighting, that must be a problem with my old, old, NVidia graphics card.

Only flew a few minutes in a Camel vs a Dr.I and I had lots of fun! They really fly well and loved the rotary engine torque and the speed control! I miss the brakes, though!  :D

Congrats to you all, you did a fine job!

Cheers,
