Can you still do a LAN connection between two computers? If so how do you get to that?
If not, when did it change?

No it's not possible anymore. It was taken out several versions back.

The only reason I would like LAN play is to allow my young sons to play the game without being exposed to less-than-desirable online behavior.

I set my son up and he does the offline missions...well tries..he does ok

I'd like it to do bug testing, specifically searching for awkward ground war things such as Tiger AP shots glancing off M3s.
