You're running Win7 Ultimate with just a gig of RAM?  :O  Please say you have disabled all eyecandy and pared it down to the bare minimum.

Wow... I'm surprised you ever got it to work with that laptop at all.

First, make sure you set all power management settings to 'high performance' and set nothing to turn off automatically.

Second, turn AA completely off, and set textures to 256 MAXIMUM (128 may be your only hope though)

Third, turn off all advanced graphics options except for Bump Map terrain... IF that checkbox is even enabled.

Lastly, some more RAM might help a bit, but the simple truth is that system in general just isn't up to par for this game.

Good luck

I do not see anyway at all for the game to run on a computer with Windows 7 and only 1GB of RAM.  It takes that much RAM for Windows 7 to display the desktop.

Lower settings are not going to help, in this case.  Your computer barely has enough RAM in it to run Windows 7.  Other applications will swap in and out of the limited RAM space but real time games cannot run from the swap area without a lot of other problems.

Also consider the 251MB of RAM the video chip is using comes from your 1GB of system RAM.  Now you are down to 768MB of RAM to run an operating system that requires 1GB as a minimum to run.

There is absolutely no way for the game to be stable when being run in such limited resources.

Quite frankly, Dell should be shot for selling a computer, running Windows 7, with only 1GB of RAM in it and a video chip that sucks away more system RAM.

It had vista on it.

find an old dell disk and install XP as a secondary OS. If you remove the Windows 7, it voids the warranty. If there is no warranty, remove it all together. I have litterally a dozen Windows XP disks from Dell. I'm sure you can find one.

At the bare minimum buy as much RAM as that thing will hold. Right now that system has a total of 1024MB RAM, 251MB of that is shared with the video chip...the rest is being eaten by Windows sitting there idle. That was one of those "Dell Deals" that should never have been put on the market in the first place...it was intended for the casual home user...not for gaming.
