AH film viewer views
« on: May 20, 2010, 10:11:45 AM »
I really like the feature in the film viewer that lets you uses "recorded views". When enabled this shows the film from the view as the pilot used/saw during the action that was recorded. BUT since I got a TrackIR, this feature no longer works. Is there a trick to getting this functioning again? Or will this feature not work with a TrackIR system?

Recording views just records the view keys used, so when somebody uses the joystick hat to "look left" or the keypad to "look up" it just mimicks this.

Track IR does not use these key presses, so it will not be recorded properly in a film. It has nothing to "play back" because no keys were pushed (instead, the player's head moved).

I think TIR is set up as an axis (or set of axes) and that's why they're not captured in film files.
