Broken links
« on: June 29, 2010, 09:37:09 AM »
I have notice that all the links on the SEA calender doesn't seem to work. You go to the next page that Brooke posted the link, then you click on the posted link and gives a new tab or window with Error 404.

I thought Brooke might want to look into the problem.

- Thanks Magnus

I think he is right....

I noticed if you click through the calendar via the normal BBS by choosing the calendar tab at the top, you get a re-direct to what appears to be the normal BBS page for that event...if you follow the link to the event.org site it breaks.....throws a 404...

If you go to the event section of the board you get the same thing...

However if you go to the .org site and choose the event/message board menu item via the java drop down ..you get what appears to be an encapsulated version of what exists on the normal BBS system...and that link works...

For instance if you follow the two methods described above you get the following two redirects....incidentally both of them supposedly pointing at the same product...

http://ahevents.org/western-european-theatre/most-memorable-day.html

http://ahevents.org/events/snapshot/snapshot-setups/42-western-european-theatre/69-most-memorable-day.html

The former fails and the later succeeds...

Its obvious this is a minor sub-directory reshuffle in process and the connection between the board index and the org index are not dovetailed...

...Not surprising seeing as the guys behind the curtain have done some major retrofit work on the front end we all see...at both ends...

I am sure they will work it out...and they have done a hell of a job so far...

 :salute

Minor issue as they iron things out....

Out

Oneway

Edit: to fix the problem simply do a search in your web editors for the two aforementioned link strings and reconcile their interactions or function calls...either one or the other needs to change to set things right...

It's a consequence of the ahevents.org site being totally redone, and special-events folks haven't all updated the links for calendar postings yet.
