Lag when looking at trees and smoke from hangers.
Cant run Call of Duty WAW at all.
Company of Heroes is at lowest graphics.

Just some of the problems.

Can you post a complete DXDIAG?

To summarize: during normal AH game play- everything runs smooth.  Then, looking at trees moving by causes shuttering and when looking at flames/smoke, your frame rate drops dramatically causing an extreme slowdown in performance. sound about right?

Do you have the same slowdown/stutter in a large furball/ lots of planes flying close by? And/or when you're saddling up on a con for a final gun solution, is there shuttering/slowdown?

initially, I'm thinking that it could be too many background processes.  The DXDIAG should show what those are.

Check out Skuzzy's posts here: http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,71591.msg2354287.html#msg2354287

One of the topics in the post will show the DXDIAG process and also help to shed some light on potential issues. Once you have the full report in your post, more folks will be able to comment and make suggestions for you.

That graphics chip is the heart of your problem. If you're having trouble with CoDWaW and CoH, nothing short of an actual video card is going to solve your issues.

If you haven't already try:

Max texture size - 256
Anti aliasing - 1 step
No detailed water
No detailed terrain
Don't show other player skins
Turn off "show horizon"
No shadows at all.
Object detail all the way to the right.
Ground detail about 1 mile.

When you launch AH, where you would click Online or Offline at that first splash screen, click Video Settings instead.

Where it says Max Texture size what are you using?

Due to the low end nature of the 6150SE video chip, you must run the game with everything set to optimize game performance.

Also note, due to the low end nature of the 6150SE, your CPU is doing most of the work, thus requiring the CPU to be doing as little as possible for anything outside the game.  In other words, you must run a very clean system, as it pertains to background processes and CPU utilization.

One more thing.  Do not run the game at the native resolution of your monitor.  While it will look the best, the video chip cannot keep up with very high resolutions while running games.  Set the game video resolution to 1024x768.  It will look pretty bad, but it should make it playable.

There is just not much you can do with a $2 video chip.  It is what it is.

That would depend on the computer.  Many computers, with built-in video, cannot be upgraded due to lack of slots, or a limited power supply.

If this is an OEM computer, that question would best be answered by the OEM.

Looks like it does have an open PCIe X16 slot:

However, I cannot find any specs on the power supply.. most likely it's only a 300 or 350 watt, in which case you'll need to upgrade that as well when you replace the video card.

You can see a substantial improvement with a $100 video card and a $100 power supply.. but if you're looking to max out that game's graphics settings.. it's gonna cost you $300 or more.

Like Skuzzy said, the onboard video chip is the problem. Even so a 6150 would probably balk at large spreadsheets, let alone games!

No anti-aliasing, textures at 128x128, resolution turned down to 1024x768 or so (I'm shocked it can even run a desktop at 1680 resolution!!). He should also probably disable ground vehicle effects and weapon effects as well as every other option he can find. It's really not going to run very well IMO.
