Buying new hardware...

and the retailer is throwing in my choise of 98SE or ME.  I'm taking ME cause I already Have 98,

Question: anyone know right offhand if Star  Office 5.2 will have probs with ME.

 No idea but fwiw, I would have stayed with WIN98SE.

Yep I'll install SE (For games), O/S2 (for work), Linux and ME, (for testing and stuff), when I get it built. But that wasn't the question

There is no reason at all to "upgrade" to ME.  I promise you that you will regret wasting at least $50 on it.  98SE is the best.

I could write a wall of text here explaining why you don't want ME, but I don't feel like it.  Just trust me here...

I "upgraded" from Win98SE to win ME, the only thing I noticed is the few functional differences between them, games all perform the same and so does everything else.  If you already ha ME dont bother loading 98, it wont make any difference.  If you ahve 98SE then you MAY like the few "enhancements" that ME has but the performance wont differ.
