Small world
« on: September 23, 2010, 11:13:39 PM »
Today while enjoying live music in the park, I met an old man with a WWII Vet hat. Me, being the inquisitive young man I am, asked him some questions. Turns out, the man was in the same aircrew as my great great uncle. He was the radioman in the B-24 my uncle was the ball gunner for. Was very surreal hearing him tell me the same stories my great grandma told me about my uncle. The man's name was Alan Fouler. Great man.  :salute

I would, but I'm guessing that some weren't true, both he and his wife started writing children's books. They had a knack for story telling.

 :rofl

The chance meeting of another individual that flew in the same plane is amazing. The stories, while maybe not entirely factual, would still be very interesting.

I was a ball turret gunner in a previous life.  I think I died in one.  Not real sure.  The human experience can be a total freak out at times.

In one very important way I am larger than average based on clinical research

I am 5' 5" and have sat in the ball turret aboard the Boeing B17 "Boeing Bee" and felt
very much at home there. Like I had been there before.  That's when I had a memory of a dream. Weird really, I remember it as a dream, but I don't remember having the dream before then.  Like a waking dream happening on the spot.  The color, clarity and detail of it was astonishing.  And the fear.

I have had some crazy stuff like that before too. It can be very weird.
