Ok...my roommate needs a vid card so that he can run AH in acceptable resolutions with a decent framerate. I was going to donate my old Voodoo5 5500 to him, but the only problem is that he doesnt have a AGP slot. His system is not that great, but even with what he has now he is getting framerates from 5 to 10 fps. His machine is an Emachines PIII 500mhz with 256 megs of ram. It has 4 meg onboard video now and he gets 5-10 fps in AH at the lowest resolution setting.

What PCI card recommendations would you guys make keeping in mind that we are trying to keep the cost fairly low? I looked in pricewatch.com but I dont know that much about the different PCI cards in order to recommend one to him.

Any advice?!?!

They made PCI versions of the voodoo 5. I'll bet they are REALLY cheap right now.

Try and find a Geforce 2 PSI version, not sure they actually exist but I think they do. Otherwise, buy a TNT2 PSI version, really cheap now.

I just saw some GF2 PCI cards at the local Best Buy. They exist.
