Finally figured out how to study tactics
« on: October 08, 2010, 02:41:45 AM »
Never used the trails feature in the Film Viewer. Tried it for first time, and everything just opened up completely for me.

I guess I know what i'll be doing after I lose in 1v1s

I used to record and analyze all my fights, it helps a lot.

DEPENDS ON what you're looking to learn.

i've watched external, with trails on, internal from the other guys perspective, watched looking at gauges only......sometimes watch the speeds in the sidebar........
what i'd like to see added is film support to see control inputs.....

I recommend using Fixed/Pan/Trails On.  Use your keyboard to slew the view around and cut the speed down to about half.  This give you time to really analyize the relations between the aircraft and what their actual flight paths are relative to each other.  Also, make sure you keep an eye on relative speeds.  Many times this will help answer questions such as how someone "out turned" you or why your attempt at forcing an overshoot didn't work.
