An official in Shijiazhuang, China, bragged to reporters during a December press conference that the city is pushing the envelope on innovative and progressive thinking, referring to a new "women's only" parking lot about to open. It was designed to meet a females strong sense of individuality and independence, to appeal to her tastes in fashion, and to offer convenience for a female's different sense of distance. That is, the spaces are painted pink and purple, 3 feet wider than regular spaces, and attendants have been specially "trained" to "guide" women into their parking spaces.
