My father, Mills Schanuel, an original or "plank" member of VF-17 died Sept. 1. He was 92.

This is the second email I've received from an original VF-17 member's son. It's really touching and brings some reality to the squad in what we feel is just a game. Being able to read about see pictures of these men we consider Heroes and have their sons let us know they appreciate us is beyond what i ever expected when i joined.
