Decent padded computer chair
« on: December 05, 2010, 02:11:24 PM »
My rear end doesn't like my thinly padded computer chair. If you look in the stores just about all of them have inadequate padding considering the amount of time we spend in front of our computers. After spending a couple of hours simming you can feel it. I would love to get one that is really comfortable and that maybe had a couple of fold out flaps at the side for my throttle and stick. Now this guy seemed to know what he was doing. :rock

Or a couple more of these and you'll bring your pad with you wherever you go.

Car seats from a junk yard work great. I had an 8-way powered leather seat from a Chrysler Cordoba that I paid $50 for. I had it for years and only gave it up when I sold my simpit it was in. I'm thinking of getting another one and building a heavy duty base out of wood and I'll be set for life.

I got an executive style chair at an independant office furniture store.  I also got my desk and cadenza there used without as much as a nick on either one.  I've had them for years and the chair's still very comfortable.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

I've got a Ford Cougar seat, works quite well and plenty adjustable

Car chairs are some of the best desk chairs possible. With the right desk it's made all the better. :D
Spent a week getting mine right (had to get exact measurements from a car and triple check em), but considering desks that work some-what like mine run $600 I was happy to only spend $100.

Best part is seats from a car only cost ~$50 whereas desk chairs average $100+.

oh and when picking a seat from a junked car, get the passenger seat. Lots less wear and tear on it and it will cost the same as a drivers.

i have the seat but not that frame, it looks like you could make it yourself if you had the chair :old:
