HELP
« on: December 24, 2001, 11:45:00 AM »
OK.. I am officially stupid.  I noticed that my Detonator 23.11 drivers worked poorly with AH so I decided to go back to 12.41.  I used "Remove Programs" to get rid of the 23.11 but I wasn't paying attention and I forgot to set the card back to the standard PCI VGA driver before rebooting.  Now I can only get to safe mode, which doesn't allow changing the display driver.  If I try to boot normally, Plug and Play trys to install Gefore drivers and gets a protection error freezing windows.  I tried to get Detonator Destroyer from 3Dguru.com and guru3D.com but those pages seem to be gone.

Any ideas- or should someone this dumb be forced to suffer the error of his ways  :)

HELP

Thanks guys- didn't think someone would answer so fast!  I finally got it to work, but it was the most painful computer experience I've ever had.  At first the Safe Mode would not allow changing the driver to VGA (it just had "unkown").  I had to install an old PCI graphics card and that seemed to wake Plug and Play out of its stupor.  About 100 reboots later, manually cleaning of all Nvidia refs from the Registry, and deleting all Nvidia drivers finally allowed booting to normal VGA mode.  Then I could reinstall 12.41 drivers and it now seems to be working.

THANKS for the help!   :)
