Converting from HTML
« on: December 07, 2010, 09:58:16 AM »
Found the new Offline mission program, downloaded it then followed the video to load a mission. The 6 minute video describes how the mission would likely be saved in an HTML file, which it was. Then the video does a quick 5 second zip over of how to change an HTML file to a .res file in MS-DOS. Attempted to follow the very, very weak guidance with no luck.

Then went to 'help' in a vain attempt to rename files. Any suggestions on how to do this without hiring a computer hacker?

assuming you are running Windows, find the file using My Computer or Windows Explorer, then click on it once so it is highlighted. then press the F2 key (top left of the keyboard), which will allow you to change the name of the file.

pressing F2 puts you into EDIT mode. when in EDIT mode, you should be able to just type and change the filename extension from .HTML to .RES, just like you are using a program like Microsoft Word or Notepad.
