Up this week in the AvA: Winter on the Rhine
« on: December 30, 2010, 05:09:01 PM »

Winter on the Rhine, January 1945
As Hitler bumbles opportunity after opportunity to stop the Allied forces, he pulls all remaining forces back toward Germany.  American and British forces are now planning their final push utilizing new air assets to help suppress the still large German Army - the Luftwaffe however is now a shell of its former self. The new German iron in the air, in particular the 109K-4 and Dora, still pack a punch.

Allied commanders are mindful from the recent sting from Bastone as most German Armoured divisions are still intact.  US forward commanders have a few British and Canadian ground attack squadrons at their disposal and intend to use them to chase the Nazi's back into Berlin before Stalin does.  The question all the Generals are asking: why doesn't Hitler surrender when he's facing a no-win situation?
