For those upgrading from Vista to Win7

Please do not use the upgrade path - to say its a pain is an understatement. You'll find search wont work correctly (even after reindexing everything  you can think of). Some of your folders wont work and it does weird things (unless its just me, which wont be too much of a surprise)

Please do a data move to a secure location, full install after wiping the beast that is Vista off, and put your data back manually.

Been in a big row with a microsoft admin for the last 2 days about this, they dont like me no more lol......

Wurzel (ymmv, but probably not)
I'm the worst pilot ingame ya know!!!

It's all unrealistic crap requested by people who want pie in the sky actions performed without an understanding of how things work and who can't grasp reality.

Heh I've yet to see a windows vista/7 installation where the search would work. It's 'practical' for finding calculator or notepad but for searching files? Can't hold a candle to OSX.

upgraded to a ssd drive from a sata hd the same time I upgraded XP to win 7.
Did a full install (2nd choice) - no upgrade and then got it to boot from the ssd drive.
tricky but works well.
