hey......'nother question for you jeep guys. a customers husband gave me a catalogue for quadra tec
they're an online jeep parts supplier. any of you ever heard of them? good? bad?
I buy from Quadratec often... No complaints. They stock just about everything you could possibly need for your YJ.
My old YJ (1992) was largely trouble free, except for a loose ground behind the dash, which caused the instruments to go wacky. I found it, installed a new lug and the problem went away. I completely rewired my '63 Willys CJ5, but that wasn't much of an ordeal. Not much to rewire in a Jeep of that vintage. I was able to find new harnesses in catalogs, and for those I couldn't find, I made myself, using modern connectors spliced where needed.
My '08 JK Wrangler has been absolutely gremlin free, despite everything but the steering being routed through the computer... Needed a reflash to enable the tranny temp idiot light. For some reason, the '08s and '09s didn't have it enabled via the original factory software. Required a recall to get them all done.
With about 58" of snow on the ground since Dec. 27, the Jeep has been in the snow quite a lot. Now, they are predicting another 1 to 2 feet next week... I have no idea where to put this new snow. The piles along our driveway are already 6 feet high, and the plows have pushed snow two feet higher than our mailbox (had to shovel it out to get mail delivery). Today it reached 37 degrees (tropical heat wave!) and I was finally able to wash the JK... Useless in some respects, as a short drive will get it covered with dirty snow again, but I needed to get the salt off and sand/repaint some minor rust on the passenger side rock slider/rail.
Here's a few shots taken on Jan 12, after we had 20.5" on top of the 18" two weeks prior (Yesterday, we got another 16" after 4" on Friday).
Yesterday morning....
