Getting a squad started can be a very difficult task.  You're going to get quality members based on a positive reputation, both of yourself and your squad.  Unless you're part of the .01% of hairless ankle players in the game, people won't join your squad simply because of your name.  Don't expect much results in the first couple of tours.

-IMO, You have to determine what you want your squad to be, and what you expect of your members.  I'm not saying you need to be a harsh CO, have fun, but make sure your squad doesn't develop a reputation of poor behavior.
- Be good at what you do; players want to be a part of a good squad.  I'll use the 91st as an example, we don't always have a huge impact on the game, that's not our main goal; however, we always have fun, and usually hit our targets.
-Don't just grab up anyone who will join you.  Even with two people, you need to vet recruits to make sure they work well with the squad.  You might find the personality of a player doesn't fit with what you want the squad to be.
-Although I'm not sure how effective recruiting on country channel is, use country to inform people of your missions.  i.e.  "303rd going to drop hangers at 45"  or "303rd running B-17 mission out of 54, vox ### if you would like to join us".
-Finally, have fun.  Just make sure you're enjoying what you're doing and remember that's the reason you're playing this game in the first place.

Good luck.

Absolutely, though we're in a bit of disarray at the moment.  There are many of us participating in BOG which happens to be on our squad night.  There are 3 more frames, but hopefully by March 26th we will be back up and running.  Sometimes we get guys together on Friday nights though.  Vox 191.

I have found that recruiting new members just happens.  Usually from having you and your squad visible in the MA's on a regular basis doing what you like to do.  You will attract like minded folks.  However it does take time, so be patient.  Always be polite to those around you in the MA's, as you never know who might be a potential recruit or tell a potential new recruit about you and your squad.  Another thing that get's folks attention is participating in activities outside of the MA-dueling bracket, AH Racing League, Scenarios, Snapshots, and a multitude of other activities.

Good luck to you Sir!

Spending time in the TA helping other bomber pilots may help some. I'd rather look for a 1/2 a year and invite someone that will stay opposed to jumping and inviting  someone immediately and have them bail shortly after.
I've been CO of The Specialists ever since AirWarrior closed and we came over.
Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.

the 91st and the Dickweeds are both great groups red as you know. learn from them both :aok

Both bomber groups fly by different tactics. The Dickweeds stick tight formation eased off the throttle to keep a wall of bombers and guns. The 91st as i've seen while escorting has always kicked it faster while staying tight as to get to the target fast. If im wrong by these assumptions please correct me guys. i should know by now how you fly :lol i see it twice a week :D <S>

For us, we find that getting a pinpoint calibration is a lot easier at full throttle.  We usually climb out as much as we can together, then throttle back and form up tight, then throttle up to full for calibration and drop.  If we can stay together at full, we see no reason to throttle back and go any slower (unless we're running low on fuel on egress).
