Early East Africa scenario
« on: March 11, 2011, 05:26:30 PM »
What do you guys think, would it be fun?

I know we might need some new/err older planes, esp in the Italian dept, but it could be extended to include coordination with GVs much more so than many of the more late war scenario's like battle for Germany (which focused on 8th air-force's bombing campaign).

Yeah, that's right, you just got your rear handed to you by a fuggly puppet!

With what planes? We have no spit5s with the heavy, draggy, huge sand filter. We have no hurricanes with the same. It severely slowed down speed, climb, and manuverability, so subbing in the normal spit5 or hurr1/2 is not realistic.

What about the 109E7? That was its main time to shine, but we don't have that. C200? Nope. G.50? Nope. SM.79? Nope. Hrm.. well a least we have the 190a2? Crap, forgot we don't have that. How about the Panzer 3? Nope... The only planes we really have that would be valid are the Ju87, the P-40B, the Boston III and the Bf110C (and that one's debatable!). Oh, and the Ju88.

Doesn't make for a very good planeset list, considering most of the options we don't have in-game. Also most of the "tank action" involved fixed gun positions rather than tanks. I'm not even sure our early 75mm sherman is the model that was used during the battle, so I can't vouch for that one either.

I love that time in theory, but in practice it's really hard to do without a number of missing planes.

or tanks, for that matter.

we'd need the panzer III. the british tank (forget its name)

and the M3 LEE (this tank should be in game allready).

among others.

Well lets get some of those planes :)

I've asked for some of the  Italian ones for a while now.
