Did the Ju87D-8 get used for daytime operations?

I'm sure towards the end of the war, it may have been pressed into daylight duties on the Eastern Front.  Don't think it say daytime use over Italy or western Europe, same with the D-7.

I was looking at the specifications thinking this might be nice for the Ju87 fans who give so much to get slaughtered for their troubles. The two wing mounted MG151/20 might give them a chance to get home or create a whole new adrenalin junky group of furballers in the MA.

The best I could come up with on it's operations was as a night harraser but with some daytime work in troop support. You think that can qualify it for the game?

It would make more sense to model the Ju87D-5 rather than the D-8.  The D-8 was based on the D-5, including the wing mounted 20mm cannons.  I think the only real difference between the D-5 and the D-8 was the flame dampers and the homing system that was on the D-8.

To answer the question about whether the D-8 would qualify for inclusion at some point in AH, I would think that the only thing that could potentially disqualify it would be numbers produced.  However, from what I read both the D-7 and the D-8 saw wide spread use from 1943 to the end of the war in multiple squadron strength.

Hopefully when HTC gets around to remodeling the current stuka, they will throw in the 20mm armed version a well. Maybe even the 37mm gun pods too.  :pray Heres to hoping.
The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.

Ju87 D-3 (which we have) and Ju87 D-8 used the same exact airframe, so it should be the simplest of add-ons  Please give it!!
The Kanonenvogel had 6 rounds per pod, this is not even close to being open for debate.

The Ju-87D-8 was based off the D-5 airframe, not the D-3.  The other Stuka nightfighter, the D-7 was based on the D-1 airframes that had been upgraded to D-5 standards.  The G-3 was the only Stuka that I know of that was based on the D-3 airframe.

From what I could find the D5 is a better introduction for the game. It has an increased wingspan and stronger engine than the D3 due to the heavier bombs it was supposed to carry. It was thrown into night harrasement duty without any night instraments or flame dampening on the exausht. The D8 was purpose built with night instraments, Revi12N/Revi16N and dampeners but, was basicly the same plane.

Ack Ack I bet you have the Ju87 bible in your house and could easily update all of the data for this without all this scrounging around on the internet by me. We both know any data from the internet is a copy of a copy of an even worse copy of a copy. I just wanted to do something for the guys who fly forever just to get blown out of the sky 30 seconds after they get where they are going 99% of the time.
