Te be fair I didn't think the show was that terrible.  They did get some really great acts, and some really stupid ones.  I just wished they'd show less of the stupid ones.

And to everyone saying that modern TV shows like this suck, may I remind you that this type of show has been around for at least 35 years.   Anyone remember Ed McMahon's Star Search show from the 1980's??  As I recall it was pretty much the same concept.

I just found it amusing that they choose Brits to host/judge and American show.

The British accents are there to add legitimacy to the ratings-based judging style.  The judges aren't there to judge the best acts, but rather to make sure that the most popular ones get the most coverage.
