Signature Block & putting an image in it...
« on: June 19, 2011, 01:08:25 PM »
Okay, I tried searching the forums for a how to and couldn't find anything newer than 2002.

That being said, I want to post an 80 x 80 image into my signature block and can't figure it out.  There is no option to upload, copy or paste.

Canb anyone enlighten me please?

Thanks!!!

Under the header, click on the "Profile" button, then on the left column click on profile information link. At the bottom of the page in the signature box paste in the address where your picture is hosted surrounded by the IMG tags.

Thanks!  So it needs to be hosted?

I will give it a shot.

Place this URL into your IMG tags:

http://i22.servimg.com/u/f22/14/92/97/96/slipkn12.jpg

and you'll get this:

If the link to the image does not end with a .jpg, .png, .gif, .bmp, etc. then you are not actually copying the image location in the server, you are copying the link to a page that happens to contain that image.

Here's an example:

http://i788.photobucket.com/albums/yy170/gnpatent/postgavemecancer.jpg

Note how the URL ends with a .jpg... you have been trying to post something like this in IMG tags:

http://s1190.photobucket.com/albums/z446/B-17/?action-view&current=Meandmyviolin.jpg&newest=1

If I place my link in IMG tags here is the result:

If I place your link in IMG tags...

(Image removed from quote.) it no worky  :cry

Yep.  Upload the image you want to something like PhotoBucket, then copy the IMG link.
Then go to your profile info and paste that link there.
You can open 2 instances of your web-browser with AHII Bulletin Board open at one time.  That way you can work on
your profile image on one browser, then go to the other one and hit refresh, to see how the image will look.
