 Heck of a fight, ran outta ammo on Hopper! <S>

You guys were amazing. We knew we caught you low on fuel and ammo, while we had just rearmed and refueled. With you guys in thirsty P-40Es and us fresh 109G14s...Obviously we pretty much held all the cards going into the fight. It quickly became obvious we'd grabbed a tiger by the tail though. I don't know how many times one of us said "Damn these guys are good" during the long fight. You guys were getting the noses around on those P-40s incredibly fast. When I checked the logs this morning I couldn't wait to see who that last P-40 was. When I saw your name I thought That figures. You nearly had me fly into the drink a couple of times. I was thinking your guns may be dry, but I didn't want to make the mistake of assuming myself right into your sights. Going by the logs the engagement took a little over 10 minutes. That was the funnest most intense 10 minutes I've had during an FSO. Your flying was outstanding as well as the flying by MrDick, SIRB, and BLBird.

PS. Not only did I have the advantage of a fresh 109G14, but I also had the good fortune to be flying with Hobo, D0m1n0, and Hopper. I was surrounded by good sticks on both sides of the fight.

Yeah fun fight man, I got frustrated and thought I could pull off a rope-a-dope.  Wasn't long before I figured out I was the dope

  Nice reply Shifty thanks. We were workin our butts off calling constant 6's and dodging fire. Our only hope was you were low on fuel and ammo, which appear to have been not the case , and you'd rtb. Sirb had a bad elevator, I cant believe he survived as long as he did. Bird got discoed, he had the most ammo left I think, and Mrdick said he had brains all over his cockpit just before he died.

  I gambled on following you up Hopper, if our comms werent so active Id have thought twice but I found a window of opportunity and went for it. Luckily for me my shots were true. Near the end I was actually getting physically and mentally exhausted. My last thoughts were, well maybe we've taken alot of their cannon rounds so they cant move onto A31 and be as effective.

After the fight ended we RTB'd as I'm approaching the field I decided that's enough fun for one night. I'm too worn out.
I towered out and went to bed.
