About forty years ago, roughly 1971-72 when I was a young NCO stationed at Kelly AFB in San Antonio I had the pleasure of seeing a Confederate Air Force air show at an old airfield some where NE of San Antonio, having been a fan of the old war birds since I was a child it was a dream come true to actually see them in the air and later up close on display, but the most amazing feat that day was the performance and skill of the pilot flying the B-17. As he rolled out on landing the pilot upon nearing a full stop began to apply the brakes while applying power to the aircraft and balanced the B-17 on its main gear with a slight tail high attitude and held it at a full stop balanced on its mains for nearly 30 seconds, to this day that remains one of the most impressive air show maneuvers I can remember.,
And yes in those days it was "The Confederate Air force"
