A recently obtained Russian military photo taken over the seas north of Japan appear to show a jet powered fighter aircraft with Japanese markings.
The aircraft is believed to be the Nakajima Kikka, a crude jet model patterned after the German Me 262.
No performance or armament details are available.
Though it is not believed that the enemy can deploy this aircraft in significant numbers, fighter groups operating the P47M have been transferred to the theatre to counter this possible threat.
