Something a little wierd
« on: December 17, 2011, 12:11:43 AM »
At the end of the frame. Say last 25 minutes. I say that because the last thing I saw on my text buffer was a time check at 35 mins left. After that I couldn't send any text on any channel and nothing more came across. Could talk on VOX but that's all. Additionally ammo wasn't connecting with the server. Slipknot in a 38 and I in a P-40 chased a 109 on the deck south of 12. I hit the guy with 4 bursts, 2 good ones, after Slipknot had turned him with some hits of his own. No apparent damage from either of us. I drained my ammo and turned back North. Slip delayed a few secs and turned North too. By now the 109 had rev'd and had buds too. I'm out ahead of him and am almost to 12. I see him at my low 8 and turn into the 109 to shoo him off. He breaks but now he's following me. No worries. I'll drag him North to the V base and maybe the ack guns there will ping his engine or something. Nope. OK we engage him for like 5 or 10 mins slow turning on the deck. He's shootin at us. We have no ammo. His shots aren't registering. He has his buds engage us. They're all shootin but nothin's happening. I figure we'll run em out of gas but they wised up at about the 12 minute mark by our estimation and headed south to 8. We landed at 12. I couldn't log as it kept saying I had to be stopped to end flight. But I was stopped and it took me out of the cockpit and I was just standing in the middle of the desert--no field. LOL! And I had to bring up the task manager to end the program.

An interesting night. I blame Crazy8s for tripping over the cord!

Yep. I couldn't give time checks, change radio channels or anything.  Once I got booted from the game, I couldn't get back in. The HTC servers are fubar and won't authenticate us to get back in. We're trying to upload logs to see if they are fubar as well.

LOL  :x

OMG! That was you, and it was Slip in the P40?!   :airplane: It's a small world, and I keep bumping heads with my old Squaddies! LOL

The guy you chased back to A8 was Jayro. Then we jumped you. He had Gondolas on, so he was in a slower plane. I'm the one who chased you two over the V-Base. I didn't know you were out of ammo, and kept dodging your attacks, and slip's too! LOL!
I finally turn you, and I know the P40 is gaining angles, but I figure I can dodge him. I'll know it's dangerous when I see tracer. But I see none. That's when I figure it out; you two are out of ammo - the P-40 at least! So I ignore him, and start hammering away with my cannons. A lot miss, or so i figure, until I run out. Then I start working on you with my BB's. I must have put fifteen cockpit bursts into you before I ran out of them too!. Then Jayro, IrishD, and Wax show up <Yay Gunfighters!  :aok>.

But same deal! We must have killed you two about 20 times, five times each! LOL. It's time, the frame is closing, we're all out of ammo, and something is definatly wrong. So I wag my wings to the 38 as he draw's near. He gets the hint, a Big <Salute>, nice fight, everybody gets to end the frame , and then we hi-tail it out of there. :bolt:

Definatly a wierd way to end the frame, standing on that hill. Having built maps, and programed missions, I recognized it immeidatly. It was map coordinates 0,0,0 - the dead center of the map. The game had no idea where else to put us, so it defaulted there. What a night!

Question: What do you think the logs are going to say???

Since I have no teacher I know I'm still working on being ready...

That's wierd-- in the MA, I was right above 117. That was my target, in a set of 17s... So I ended up at 10,000 feets, slightly to the South of A117, and was unable to end flight...

Same issues here too! HiVolt and I re-upped from 7 made a quick run into 68, dropped ords on base (nothing happened), ran into a P40 round and round we all went, HiVolt finally got him, RTB to home field 32, end sortie -stuck in the desert - no shot of whiskey - no chicks - had to Alt F4 to end game. In the stats it shows our mission ended at A7 - nothing after that. Is Rod Serling back or maybe we found the Higgs boson particule  :O  :noid

The Claim Jumpers had the same issues.  Our first indication was the town ack could not be killed on our second attack at+ 1:10!  I watched solid drops on hangers that did not fall.  We had a big furball south of A59 and I hit two Fw190's with 37mm taters and nothing.  Out of ammo we headed back to A6 when one of our guys got caught up with 3 enemy fighters and he had no ammo.  10 min's of him trying to stay alive until they just gave up and went home...it was like the TA?

<S> to the Jokers Jokers!  Look at all them Bish on the runway....and I have TATERS!  Lol. Great winging with you guys.

KN had the same problem. We were in a large furball at I think it was 12. I had solid hits on a spit that would have clipped his wing. A perfect grouping on a 38 twice and nothing! At least HTC is on the problem. So what do we do about scoring and all the would have been kills? Replay the frame?  :)

Everyone had the same issues.  Imadot got booted and left me in the arena as (I guess) the only CM.  He couldn't get back in and I sent regular time checks into the void.  Sort of like talking to my teenager. Any who... I ended the frame at the correct time, Dot called me and we got the logs to upload.  And finally, you are right, Crazy8s tripped over the powercord.

Blame the new guy!  He's a witch!  :rofl

The last part of the frame, I saw all kinds of wonky stuff:  no text, pilots couldn't bail out, no gunnery damage was being applied.  When JG11 all tried to tower out at A59, we got magically whisked off to the middle of nowhere near map sector 10-10-1, and then Aces High would not close.  We all had hit CTRL-F4 to get back out  to Windows.  Right after that I tried to get back in to Aces High and saw this message (for the first time ever):

Yes it is all my fault I tripped over the cord around the same time I had to bail out of my plane due to loosing my stabilizer went to hit my chute to open and could not deploy my chute and kept getting must be stopped or something strange like that. Other then that it was a fun frame and a good way to end the Year after a very hard fought night.

See everyone next year for another fun filled FSO Season
