AA Training Lead Site
« on: December 15, 2011, 08:08:13 AM »
This is only a spur-of-the-moment thought, so it is not very in-depth. :headscratch: ;)

Much like how we have the trainer-divebombing site available in the TA & offline to practice jabo runs on various targets, could there be perhaps a training LEAD site available to practice & refine leading aerial targets from ground & sea-based positions (field guns, vehicle AA, and various ship AA)? It would have to be coded so that one can select the target aircraft, and a corresponding lead (training) site would appear ahead of it according to velocity, altitude, & trajectory. It would also need to disappear when the target is no longer in effective range.

This is only an idea exclusively for training. Am I nuts?

There's already a lead-computing gunsite for training. Look in the arena settings under the General tab and Flight Mode Flags. If you want to use it, you need to padlock (Tab key I think) the target. If you want to use it against friendlies you need to activate the friendly padlock (Shift Tab I think).

Wait a minute...the green cross hairs are great but the target drones don't really exist.  Offline I've tried using wwi aircraft so that the drones are in range but it would be really nice if you could set the altitude of any drone and it would be really really nice if you could have them fly a more random flight path then the circle.
Pies not kicks.
