hey rich... i and many others in this game used F3 in the IL2 to line up overshoot shots with the 20mil and 37 mil cannons. some got so good (we all know who) that one was infamous in the IL2 as base defence. since the taking away of F3 in IL2s i havent seen as many defending bases. sheesh sometimes the IL2 was better at defending than some fighters were
I killed plenty of knuckleheads on overshoots while sitting in the cockpit. Anyone who was in a fighter and got killed by an IL2 in an overshoot deserved to die no matter if the driver was in F3 or F1. It used to amaze me how bad some players were in attacking an airplane with such wretched performance. Meanwhile a IL2 driver like me, who was also a wretched fighter jock, almost never got kilt by a IL2.
It was all about the tanks and GVs. F3, like with the A20, let you line up plane center with target and in a controlled dive, shooting at close range, you could open any tank up like a tin can. But the tankers couldnt very well complain a tank killer aircraft was killing them right? Want to get real? Give us PTABs then.
