Can someone recommend a good free program for cleaning out drivers...  I used to have one, but apparently I have changed computers since then and I don't remember what it was called.

I've never trusted third party removal tools... just uninstall it from the add/remove programs menu, reboot, and then install the new ones.

nvidia drivers have their own cleaning utility.  just select custom and at the bottom there's an option for a clean installation.  only install the physicsx and vc driers.  the 3d and sound drivers are not really needed.

the Nvidia uninstaller does not clean the cab. try it, run the unistaller then reboot then reboot again in safe mode and run the dc and it will show driver files left behind by Nvidia. same thing with the registry. open the registry and look for the video files, dont remember the names but you can google it, and you will find remnants of the Nvidia programing in there.

Doing a rollback insures the game will not work.  After you do a rollback, you will have to re-install the full game before you can establish a baseline for any issues you are having.  Restore points DO NOT preserve application data.

a rollback will also leave tons of artifacts and broken threads(? not sure if that is the right word) in your registry. a rollback in most instances will give you just enough to get something working so you can re-install the proper drivers. if you dont do a proper clean and re-install you may start to develop some really bizarre effects like freezes or CTD's that nobody will be able to figure out the cause of.
