B-29 drones not following on take off
« on: July 12, 2012, 11:40:27 AM »
I took off from a 5K base and one of my B-29 drones refused to follow me up lost alt, and blew up when it got too far away.  I was in a slight climb, not turning, just trying to get off the ground.  I thought I may have done something wrong, so I tried again with the same result.

Of course this was my first flight in the beast, felt kind of cheated.

Try taking off from a lower-alt base. Do it offline, in the TA or spawn a custom arena if you want to save perks. There's a reason one terrain design guideline is to limit how high a base should be.

At least you got off the ground.  I hit trees at the end of the runway and have very few bomber perks. :cry

You have to get a certain distance above ground level before they will follow you.

If you don't do this soon enough after take off, they ignore you and blow up.

I am aware of this, and one of them did, but the other decided to go off on it's own.

If I ever decide to up one again, I will try from a lower base.
