why would you want CVs to go slower?
I think it could be very usefull if the CV group was under attack in the MA by level bombers. Giving the bomber something other than the absolute full speed of the CV to count on for his drop.
Depending on the drop Alt...maybe going to half speed and a hard turn could lessen the chance that a Lanc gets if full load on the ship.
Would make nothing but a great target.
I couldn't see many times that the CV would be at a complete stop, again for a defensive purpose though killing the speed of the TG while under level bomber attack could be helpfull.
wwII ships could barely do 30 knots, noway could they do 50--and this is wwII sim so forget about it.and when wwII carriers and battleships stopped at an islaned they were surounded by 50 to 100 support ships and hundred's of planes
Uhh...tons of ships in WW2 could do 30+ knots, and I don't know what 50knots has to do with anything. And I am keenly aware this is a WW2 sim and no I won't forget about it.
I could also see this ability coming in handy in special events like the Battle of Midway, Coral Sea, Battle of Santa Cruz, Battle of Eastern Solomons, and any special event that has one group attacking a CV or Task Group.
