Frame 1 Press Releases
« on: September 08, 2012, 12:03:31 PM »

The following press releases were monitored today by the international press.  Reporters were given but scant details.  Several questions were raised about the victory claims that were made...

From London:

The RAF today staged a number of heavily-escorted bombing raids against targets in occupied France.  Several German airbases were heavily damaged.  A particularly successful attack was made by the squadrons "G3-MF" and "Air Raiders" who combined to destroy their target.

Several German attacks were attempted against targets in southern England today, as well.  Damage to RAF ground installations was slight.  RAF fighter squadrons claimed 218 German aircraft shot down.  The following three fighter squadrons were mentioned in dispatches for their significant successes: "334th FS The Eagles", "CLAIM JUMPERS", and "49th FG Fighting 49ers".

From Berlin:

The Luftwaffe attacked military targets today near the English coast, inflicting severe damage.  An especially effective attack was made by "68th Lightning Lancers", which wrecked an RAF airbase from end to end.

Luftwaffe Jagdgeschwadern also intercepted several English squadrons as they attempted to attack targets in Greater Europe.  Many English bombers were destroyed or turned back.  German fighters claim over 278 English bombers and fighters destroyed.  Three squadrons were particularly effective: "9GIAP VVS RKKA", "VF-17 Jolly Rogers", and "III/JG11 Sonderstaffel".

An unconfirmed report regarding the recent air battles over England and France, attributed to a usually reliable source, holds that victory claims on both sides could be "overstated by as much as 100%."  Because reporters were not allowed on military airbases there was no way to accurately assess losses or damage at airbases for either side.  However, travelers near Rouen, France reported fires burning at an aerodrome in the region, with large numbers of fire-fighting vehicles seen on local roads.  Meanwhile, in England, civilian road traffic was barred from a large area south-east of London, apparently centered on the town of Gravesend, where out-of-control "brush fires" were blamed for the traffic problems...

Governments continue to reveal details about recent aerial fighting in Europe.

Although a full accounting for all Allied pilots will not be released at this time, the British government issued the following statement: The RAF have confirmed that twenty-three pilots were rescued after bailing out or crash-landing in Britain.  Ten pilots are known to have been captured by the enemy.  A further ten pilots are listed as missing in action.

In Berlin, the Foreign Office gave the following figures:  Nine Luftwaffe pilots were saved after parachuting or crash-landing in Greater Europe.  The International Red Cross has informed the German government that twenty-two pilots were captured by the English.  Eight pilots have disappeared and are presumed to be missing in action.

At least one of those MIA pilots is now, I was rescued by the Royal Navy in choppy seas, I'm very fortunate to have survived,I'm currently at a disclosed location recovering from.wounds received over France, I'm guaranteed to return back to G3MF by Thursday.

Love the press releases Bino....

<S> to G3-MF and those who supported them on the second attack on A39, watching from the tower and  following along in the text buffer for me as the CIC this frame was like watching an old WWII movie.  "Who is going to make it back" and will there be enough time etc...  A real nail biter from my seat.

<S> To all the Allies who flew and made this a successful FSO, as always <S> to the CM Staff for their efforts and hard work that make FSO happen. :aok
