VOX SCREWED UP

 :airplane: I talked to Roy this morning about this problem with VOX in MLW arena and thought everything OK, but tonigh, it was almost un-useable...please do something, hard to run missions using text buffer only!!!

:airplane: Tons of complaints, no one in our missions last night could use vox for anything! Every 3rd word was cut out most of the time...sometimes it worked OK....not on my end as everyone in MLW arena last night was complaining! Problem is, hardly none of the rooks every complain on the forum, which it is designed to use for bugs and complaints. Talked with Skuzzy yesterday and said he thought it was a "packet" loss somewhere, but have had no problems with VOX in past until about a week ago!

I just did a trace back to your IP address and am getting a ton of packet loss.  Run a Ping Plot to the server and you should see it as well.

There is nothing we can do to fix an Internet related issue, except file a trouble ticket with our ISP.  The problem I am seeing is within the Comcast network, so there is really nothing we can do to help this situation.

You have to run a Ping Plot, for a few minutes, then gather the data and contact Comcast and see if you can get passed their first line of defense to someone who will actually look into the issue.

Problems like this are going to happen.  The Internet is not a static beast. It changes from minute to minute and during any given minute there is something broken on the Internet.  Sooner of later it will catch up with you.

Today my vox stopped working.  Unfortunately, I hadn't stopped working, so had to leave it until this morning when I finished work shift.  :bolt:

Returned to find vox still not working, whereas all other sounds and my mic worked fine.  Came to this section to see of any news and found this thread a couple days old and full of good leads and advice.

However, as I began going down my checklist, an old nemesis popped into mind.  Right about the time of the new Miles Sound system implementation, we went round and round and finally I think Skuzzy suggested something about my firewall.  Voila!!!! There it was and here AGAIN!!! I found that the range did not include the one that vox was carried on.

I now am receiving vox clearly and not receiving the dropped UDP message anymore.   :cheers:  I am not certain if this helps earl at all but one additional place to look in the future (before I loose anymore valuable hair plugs ).
