The plot thickens with the announcement of the AH Beta close.

For those of you who aren't planning to pay for AH (I hope HT Creations gets his player base BTW)for certain reasons.

Have you considered SDoE (Screaming Deamons over Europe)aka Fighter Squadron?

Yes,the original release back in 3/99 suffered from the Corporate Geeks gutting the
planned Physics Flight Model.

But,its been all patched up and currently rules the roost IMO.Oh,and online play is FREE after you've purchased the game.

You create missions in Mission Editor ( included)
Create your own aircraft/ground objects/terrain/aircraft skins.

BTW, honostly, if you like Massively Multiplayer,24/7 arena's,and don't mind
fantasy plane match-ups, AH is a far cry
better than WB's connections and lack
of HA arena support.

Sure looks like SDOE has come a long way.  Too bad they pulled the plug on it

Not sure what you mean by "lack of HA arena support".  WBs HAS a historical arena, and it is a blast, especially right now.  We just came out of Carrier Ops 1943, and went back in time to Carrier Ops 1942 (F4F vs A6M, plus SBD/TBF/VAL/KATE).  2 CVs a side.  Been averaging 50-60 pilots in evenings.  Got 170 in there a few times.  I don't know what "support" you mean, but Ram and Vert are doing a great job in there.

As for connects, well, I've actually never had a problem, but A LOT of people have had, and are having connection problems.  It's probably pretty hard to replace KILLER in the network area!  Nothing ruins your night faster than a crappy connect, that's for sure.
