-1 Against it. Isolate comms and you isolate players. People feel left out they leave. Not good. Simple is better. What we have already rocks.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

The OP's rational is altruistic and functional to the fault of not considering the unintended consiquences for the larger picture of the game community. Spawn campers could agree to tune to an alternate channel. But, don't in most cases. Jabo could agree to a command channel for local operations but, don't in most cases. The altruistic wish is to help them in spite of themselves like wishing there was a new law to control human behavior after a tragedy. Laws very often are tragedies of unintended consiquences wrapped up in misguided intentions abused by the self serving.

The rest of the responders are a minority who want everyone not associated with their emidiate concerns or happiness to eat stuff and die for all they care. Range irritates them. Beyond themselves or at most their squad group, the game is just a shooting gallery of fools to abuse on a nightly basis. For the most part HTC's ongoing need to promote a general community to appeal to the average human need for community is irrelevant to them. If HTC closes their doors tomorrow morning, they will have another game to login to that night to feed the need.

Unmutable range VOX is a simple answer to the concept of "community" and communicating with it. Most people feel a connection to what they are interacting with by hearing banal ongoing interactions from like minded people. If you need a squelch list as large as muting the whole range channel. It's a good indication you look on the majority of your game community as idiots to start with.

So first wish that HTC changes the name of the "Range Channel" to the "Idiot Channel" to be reasonably honest. Excluding the OP, he just meant well.

Then ask for the ability to mute the "Idiot Channel".

If I could detune country channel, I might. Being spammed with "Oink" adds nothing to my sense of community. Good conversation about the game though, does.

It really comes down to radio etiquette. A lot of people don't have it, and most of us don't have the time or patience to deal with it.
There is no reason while I'm concentrating on a good challenging fight that I need to hear 3 or 4 spawn camper gv's the next valley over yelling and yodelling about a panzer in the hangar or holding a non-game related conversation that's clogging up the channel. It's distracting and detrimental to my $15 of enjoyment. I can't always break from a knife fight just to .squelch a bunch of people. Let me just detune from vehicles instead. Then, if they're saying anything relevant on country for example, I can still communicate with them since they aren't fully squelched.

I suppose asking Hitech why Range VOX as configured has been left in place for 13 years is out of the question. I suppose it's easier to enjoy the perogitives and benifits from being a victim of it interfering with your happiness.

I will ask him for you since you are obviously oppressed and assaulted by the unwarrented effects of Range VOX upon your happiness. And here I always though you particularly unflappable and ruggedly indifferent to the chattering banality of Range VOX all these years. I didn't know you were so sensative to it. It must be a particularly painful burden for you to suffer while playing the game.

Mr. Hitech,

Why is Range VOX a channel that cannot be untuned?

At times GV'ers have tied up the vox but I am sure airplane vox has tied up their tactic vox work as well during a good tank battle.

The Gv'ers have called 6 for me several times and saved my bacon.  How many times have you seen the Gv'ers hear plane chatter of plane shooting Gv and they take them out.  A bunch I am sure.

Some interesting ideas have been posted.  I like hearing the GV'ers most of time when they are in the area. I would hate to loose working with them.

-1.

I believe that more player integration is needed in this game and am against anything that detracts from it.
