Corsair CX750M Power Supply

Hello Guys,

I am trying to install this PSU into my dell XPS8500.  I am having a difficult time trying to figure out how to get power to the CPU.  My board has a 4 pin connection on it, and the only 4 pin connection that came with this new power supply is wrapped tightly with the motherboard plug. This is a problem because the CPU power slot is located on the other side of the board.

I almost cut the cable wrapping and pulled the 4 plug away from the motherboard plug, but didn't want to be screwed if I had to return it.

I also have purchased GTX 760 card to install.  Any help installing these items would be appreciated.  I may be in over my head?

Correction, the plug on the new CPU is actually 8 pin.

I have the power supply installed.. I didn't know the 8 pin plug could be split in half.

I am now trying to install the video card.  When i get the card in, the PCI power hooked up to it, and try to turn it on, i get a single beep and locked at the Dell startup screen.  I try to hit f12 or f2 and no response?

Does the motherboard / system POST and bootup when you remove the new card?

And you have power cables running to the card as well?

Just read some posts that may help.  Someone in a similar situation suggested going into the BIOS and making sure to turn UEFI Secure Boot to Off.  Seems to have helped fix a lot of problems.

Thanks Fulcrum.  I called support and he suggested I flash BIOS also.  I did, and the card seems to be working.  Heading online now to confirm.
