Indestructible B-29
« on: January 26, 2014, 02:27:08 AM »
I wish I had film on this, but there is none. I was flying on the Baltic map chasing a set of B29's for about 15 minutes. When I finally attacked I got 5 killshooter messages and died. The 29's took no damage. I found out it was Putz and both he and Shawk claimed he was discoed when I shot. How do I get killshot shooting enemy? All you have to do is yank connection to become temporarily invincible? There is some serious buggery here.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

I think it may have more to do with the fact the shooter was Bish... I ihave a guess what may have happened, but I'd like to know first if rpm was flying on the Bish side as well  :old:

What would flying Bish have to do with it? :headscratch:

I think he means the arena sorting of friendly vs foe got a little switched around.

I wish I could find the film of me setting two b24s on fire, turning around to leave (pilot wounded) and looking back to see the planes no longer burning as they warp thier way home.

What would flying Bish have to do with it? :headscratch:

Bishops are country 1(or "0", internally), it's the first country

Many of us have experienced a very small glitch over the years that when you log into the arena, you sometimes (rarely) see exactly one line of Bish country chat, despite being rook or knight. It's that split second at login where the server tries to determine on which country you are really on.
I can imagine that something similar might be happening to the AI plane as well. Player discos, and when the server takes over the plane there's a split second where the country of that AI drone is determined. So if a Bish pilot hits the AI drone at that very moment, the server might think a Bish is shootign at a Bish.

But that's just a guess that came to my mind

I am now better informed!

I would have thought that all flags would be set before any visual screen is displayed, or may be multi processing is not synched sometimes. :bolt:
